AT A GLANCE
ATTIK is a full-service agency that delivers
world-class design, branding and advertising in addition to cutting-edge digital work.
ATTIK sets itself apart by weaving the digital
team into the creative process from the very
beginning of a project. This helps ensure a
consistent brand presence across all media,
longer engagement with a brand and more
ATTIK bakes its digital strategy into the
original idea so that all media work in concert together. This has helped the company
create concept-rich, award-winning sites
recognized on multiple occasions by the
Cannes Lions International Festival, Favorite Website Awards and Webby Awards.
For some integrated ad campaigns, ATTIK
built dense microsites as destinations for all
the other media in the campaign. One used
a virtual currency system, while another integrated 3-D CGI characters into minigames.
ATTIK created an online reality show and developed a racing game that utilized augmented reality to allow racers to steer a car with a
printed QR code via webcam.
To promote the Scion auto brand and its
loyal community, ATTIK gathered hundreds
of owners for a three-day music and art extravaganza. The cornerstone of the campaign
was the award-winning Scion United website
that featured a full-screen video mosaic with
footage of the festivities.
Most recently, ATTIK redesigned the
scion.com website using HTML5 so the site
could run natively on tablet devices. Adhering
to the latest Web standards makes for a fast
and seamless online experience.

ATTIK was an early believer in mobile
and tablet categories. It produced some of
the first mobile ads and developed a game
that ran inside The Onion’s iPad app.
This digital integration extends beyond
advertising efforts. ATTIK redesigned the
entire Boost Mobile visual identity system,
from typeface and color to layout. This look
was used in a series of dynamic and fully
customizable rich media banner templates.
Similarly, ATTIK developed a fully in-
tegrated campaign and visual identity sys-
tem for Sony Online Entertainment’s Free
Realms game. ATTIK created pregame digi-
tal engagement tactics that helped yield 20
million signups in the game’s first two years.

ATTIK Builds a Brand
ATTIK is best known for its part in launching
Scion, an accomplishment often considered to
be the most successful auto launch in history
—reaching 175,000 units sold in just three and
a half years. Those results alone are impressive,
but they are even more remarkable considering that ATTIK chose to use little traditional
ATTIK focused on digital opportunities that
leveraged emerging technology. The goal was
to allow a youth-oriented target audience to
discover the brand on their own, then give them
the tools to establish a community of owners
who would become advocates for the brand
across digital platforms.
In 2003, Toyota Motor Corp., which produc-
es the Scion, realized it had a problem. Its buyer
demographic was aging rapidly, while potential
younger buyers were relatively uninterested in
traditional Toyota models. Having killed several
initiatives to reach a younger demographic with
large media blitzes and special models, Toyota
turned to ATTIK to launch the Scion brand with
a more focused approach.
