PEOPLE ON THE MOVE
POMEROY
Twenty-year sports and entertainment PR veteran Jeff
Pomeroyhas left Turner Sports to serve as president of
the newly formed JDP Communications, a full-service
Atlanta-based sports and entertainment boutique PR firm.
Mr. Pomeroy spent 12 years at Turner, where he was most
recently senior PR director for its myriad properties. Prior
to Turner, he was the PR director of the 2000 Winter
Goodwill Games in Lake Placid, N.Y., and the 2001 Goodwill
Games in Brisbane, Australia. Mr. Pomeroy also spent five
years in Showtime Networks’ sports and event
programming department in New York.
BIERNADSKI
Donna Biernadski has been tapped to lead Digitas’ Team
Sprint as senior VP-marketing. Ms. Biernadski joins Digitas
with more than 20 years of agency and in-house marketing
experience, spanning telecom, retail, B2B and more. Prior
to Digitas, Ms. Biernadski served as VP-marketing at the
Morton Arboretum and senior VP-chief of integration at
Wunderman. She has also held positions at Euro RSCG
Worldwide, Rapp Collins Worldwide and DDB. The Sprint
assignment, effective Feb. 1, will be managed from the
Digitas, Chicago, office and led by Digitas President Tony
Weisman.
MANCUSO
Organic has promoted Andy McKinney from executive
director-engagement management to VP, and Brad
Mancuso, previously group creative director, to executive
creative director. Mr. McKinney joined Organic in
September 2010 and oversees clients including The Meth
Project, Intel and Nike. Prior to Organic, he was group
account director at AKQA, where he led the client-services
teams for Charles Schwab, McDonald’s and Target. Mr.
Mancuso joined Organic in May 2007 and has led the
creative team in developing digital campaigns for Intel, the
Meth Project, Hilton, Huggies, Sony PlayStation and Bank
of America. Notably, Mr. Mancuso led Organic’s highly
awarded “Morris on Campus” campaign for Bank of
America, a cross-channel effort that provided students
with practical financial advice. Before Organic, he was VP-senior art director at Leo Burnett, where his work on the
relaunch of the Cadillac brand was a runner-up for
Creativity’s Campaign of the Year.
BURNS
Horizon Media has expanded its newly launched WHY
group with the hire of agency-planning veteran Kenneth
Burns as senior VP-managing director, consumer insights.
He comes to Horizon from Wunderman, where he most
recently served as senior VP-group planning director,
leading the Dell account. Before that, he was senior VP-strategic planning at McCann-Erickson on accounts such
as Verizon Wireless, Verizon Telecom, Intel, Capital One and
Wendy’s. The goal of the WHY Group is to deliver a more in-depth understanding of consumer behavior, and Mr. Burns
will be responsible for helping clients connect with people
in more engaging ways, as well as developing consumer-insights tools.

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia has appointed three
new business-development executives, as well as a finance
and operations executive for its publishing and digital unit.
Russell Brown, who previously worked for brand-licensing companies such as Marvel Entertainment and
Iconix Brand Group, was named senior VP-consumer
products licensing and will be responsible for developing
and negotiating new merchandising opportunities for all
MSLO brands. The company also tapped Charlie Tiersch
as VP-business development and Colleen Nowers as
assistant VP-business development; both Mr. Tiersch and
Ms. Nowers join MSLO from NBCUniversal. Mr. Tiersch is
tasked with expanding MSLO’s presence in the digital space
and seeking international growth opportunities. Ms.
Nowers will focus on forging new affiliations for the
company’s media properties and brands. Claudio Goldbarg
was named senior VP-publishing and digital media
operations. In this position, he will oversee all financial
operations for MSLO’s publishing business. Mr. Goldbarg
has held financial positions at various media companies,
including DreamWorks SKG.
